Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Part-Time Child Development Specialist to work one-on-one with autistic children in home-based settings and/or a center in Culver City, CA. You’ll help build communication, social, and daily living skills through play-based, relationship-focused interactions.

You’ll be supported by experienced clinicians, with paid training and growth opportunities. Direct pay ranges $26-$30/hour, admin pay $20/hour, with a consistent schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of volunteer or working experience with children.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including playing on the floor for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and shared activities.
• Create meaningful connections to help children think, create, and engage with the world.
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model with measurable outcomes.
• Track progress by documenting session notes and goal outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to build clinical skills.
• Learn evidence-based developmental care in real-life settings.
