Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking Part-time Child Development Assistants to support Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms in the Division of Student Services. The team emphasizes collaboration and community impact as we work to create brighter futures for students and families in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include assisting in planning activities, fostering positive relationships with children and adults, and supporting teachers in daily care tasks.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education required within 2 years of hire.
• Previous experience in a childcare/preschool setting strongly preferred.
• Current (within one year) police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government required upon hire.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with adults and children
• Assist the teacher in carrying out the duties of caring for children

Qualifications:

• CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Edcuation required within 2 years of hire
• Previous exprience working in a childcare/preschool setting strongly preferred
• Current (within one year) police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
• NSOR Clearance upon hire

*If hired without an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA, employees must fulfill an educational requirement to obtain their CDA within 2 years of hire*

Salary Range:

PRJ, Based on years of experience in a relevant position

The Head Startpay scale is broken down below for reference:

Schedule:

Up to 7.5 hoursper day (between 7 AM - 5PM); 5 days per week

Infant & Toddler Center: 1520 A E Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320
