Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking an Early Head Start Child Development Assistant for its Early Discovery Center in West Chester, PA. This full-time 260-day position serves infants and toddlers and supports the Child Development Specialist in daily activities.

Required are a CDA or Associate's degree (or plan to attain CDA within a year), clearances, and two references. Salary ranges from $17.91 to $23.49 per hour, with placement based on experience.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associates Degree required or willing to attain CDA within one year.
• Experience in childcare/preschool preferred.
• Clearances required (State Criminal, Child Abuse & FBI Fingerprint, NSOR).
• MA provider clearance by PA and federal government upon hire.
• Two professional letters of reference.

Responsibilities

• Assist Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with adults and children.
• Assist the teacher in caring for children.

This is a 260day position, working with infants and toddlers, and will be located in West Chester.

Qualifications:

• CDA or Associates Degree, or willingnessto attain CDA within one year required
• Previous exprience working in a childcare/preschool setting preferred
• Current (within one year) State Criminal, Child Abuse & FBI Fingerprint, NSOR Clearanceclearances required
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
• Two professional written letters of reference

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with adults and children
• Assist the teacher in carrying out the duties of caring for children

Salary:

PRJ, HS2, $17.91 - $23.49/hr.
