NUWAY Alliance is seeking a part-time Chemical Dependency Technician for our Rochester location. The role supports clients from admission through discharge, supervising behavior, and assisting on-duty counselors in meeting program goals.

You will work in a team-oriented mental health/substance use treatment setting, handling crisis situations professionally while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA requirements. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification and Medication Administration certificate (Residential only) obtained within 30 days of starting work.
• Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients from admission through discharge providing client support through the extended substance and mental health treatment process.
• supervise and manage client behavior and help manage client crisis situations when necessary.
• Assist on-duty counselors as required in direct support of program goals and objectives.
• Respond to medical emergencies in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
