Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Cheerleading Specialist in Manhattan to organize, lead, and provide targeted skills instruction, coaching youth, and training staff in after-school programs. They facilitate the New York Edge Three-Season Sports/Physical Activity Model as the Center for Sports Instruction specifies.

Lead Coaches organize and provide physical activity professional development to ensure the safe, effective delivery of all program activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching youth in cheerleading or dance preferred.
• Ability to follow a defined curriculum and adapt to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish behavior rules and maintain order among students.
• Organize, lead, and promote cheerleading activities.
• Direct performance groups and rehearsals.
• Set objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Adapt activities to meet students' needs and safety requirements.
