Job summary

New York Edge, Inc. seeks a Cheerleading Specialist to organize, lead, and coach after-school activities in Far Rockaway, NY. You'll train youth, direct rehearsals, and deliver sport/arts instruction within NYC public schools, aligning with the Three-Season Sports/PA Model.

You must follow a curriculum, ensure safety, and communicate with students, staff, and families. Part-time hourly role in school sites with community events as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in one or more styles of Cheerleading.
• Experience teaching and instructing youth in dance.
• Able to follow a curriculum and engage students.

Responsibilities

• Establish rules for behavior and maintain order among students.
• Organize, lead, and promote cheerleading activities.
• Organize performance groups and direct rehearsals.
• Set clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Assess interests, evaluate equipment, and adapt activities.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Explain safety procedures and demonstrate use of materials.
• Evaluate activities and ensure progress toward goals.
• Progressive development of student skills leading to a final project.
