Job summary

Heritage Hospice, Inc. is seeking a Chaplain to work with the hospice team, offering emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support to patients and families.

The chaplain will facilitate spiritual discussions within the hospice framework and coordinate with community clergy to align with care goals. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of pastoral/chaplaincy experience, with a preferred Master of Divinity and Clinical Pastoral Education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required plus 2 years of pastoral/chaplaincy experience.
• Preferred Master of Divinity Degree and at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Knowledge of trends in spiritual and bereavement care, counseling theories and techniques.
• Computer experience and proficiency required.
• Must be able to access client homes, hospitals, nursing homes, and other places independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support to patients and families.
• Facilitate spiritual, philosophical discussions and goals within hospice care.
• Act as liaison between community clergy, patients' clergy, and Heritage Hospice, Inc.

Job description

The Heritage Hospice, Inc. Chaplain works with the Hospice team providing emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support to patients and families. The Chaplain provides and facilitates spiritual, philosophical, and goals and objectives within the hospice and palliative care concept as well as acts as a hospice liaison between community clergy, the patients clergy and Heritage Hospice, Inc. in compliance with federal, state and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization standards of clinical practice and documentation.
