Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Technician to join our team in New Jersey. This part-time role supports residents in a warm, home-like environment and offers three shift options across weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include medication administration supervision, communication with the Resident Care Director, and documentation in MAR, with focus on safety and elder care quality. CPR and licensure are required or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• Must hold state Medication Technician License and follow state-approved protocol for drug administration.
• Complete medication technician competency review (as supervised by RN / RCD) quarterly.
• CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• The Medication Technician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory completion.
• Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter.
• Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have completed CHHA or homemaker/personal care homemaker training.
• High School education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director (RCD).
• Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD.
• Documents supervision of self-administration in MAR.
• Documents/notifies RCD of administration of PRN meds.
• Responsible for documentation on PRN meds and affect.
• Recognizes and can assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
