Job summary

The Morrison Center in Maine seeks a Part-Time Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) to join our Adult Behavioral Health Home (BHH) team. This role uses lived experience to support members toward wellness, recovery, and life goals, without performing clinical functions.

Working 10 hours per week, the CIPSS collaborates with care teams, community providers, and supports to help members navigate services, build self-management skills, and access community resources.

Qualifications

• Lived experience and recovery focus required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support using Intentional Peer Support (IPS) principles.
• Share lived experience to inspire hope and recovery.
• Help members identify strengths, goals, and recovery pathways.
• Support self-advocacy and independence; encourage engagement with health and wellness services.
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health Home team and community resources; document in EHR.
