Job summary

Assistance Plus in Maine is seeking a Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist to work with the behavioral home team to deliver well-coordinated, integrated care for youth and families.

The CIPSS provides leadership and technical assistance in developing BHHO peer support services, shares lived experience, and helps clients understand their rights and access to services, while supporting recovery-oriented practices.

Qualifications

• Proof of vehicle insurance and a valid Maine driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CIPSS certification or CIPSS provisional certification.
• Self-identified mental health consumer with lived experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support to BHHO clients.
• Identify peer support needs through interactions with the BHHO team.
• Act as a peer role model with effective interpersonal communication.
• Assist clients with understanding their rights and access to services.
• Networking with programs and advocating for community opportunities.
• Attend BHHO staff meetings and supervisions.
• Provide transportation assistance aligned with ISPA goals.

General Description of Responsibilities:The Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) will work with the behavioral home team to ensure that well -coordinated and integrated care is delivered to the youth and families served. The CIPSS will provide leadership andtechnical assistance in developing and implementing the BHHO peer support services.
