Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CIPSS certification or CIPSS provisional certification.
• Self-identified mental health consumer with personal experience of mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support to BHHO clients.
• Identify peer support needs through interaction with BHHO team and clients.
• Serve as a peer role model with strong interpersonal skills and community integration.
• Help clients understand rights and responsibilities for mental health and co-occurring services.
• Network with programs and advocate for new community opportunities.
• Share experiences to help staff understand client perspectives on mental illness and substance use.
• Attend and participate in BHHO staff meetings and supervisions.
• Provide volunteer peer services outside regular hours.
• Engage in staff development activities per the development plan.
• Assist clients with transportation aligned to ISPA goals.

General Description of Responsibilities:The Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) will work with the behavioral home team to ensure that well -coordinated and integrated care is delivered to the youth and families served. The CIPSS will provide leadership andtechnical assistance in developing and implementing the BHHO peer support services.
