Job summary

The Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families (DVMF) is seeking a part-time contractual Maintenance Worker to support cemetery grounds, buildings, and related services at Owings Mills, MD. The role requires weekend and holiday availability and involves routine cleaning, setup for meetings, and light maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include visitor assistance, grounds keeping, and ensuring facilities and grounds are safe and well-maintained for state operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds and/or building maintenance.
• Experience with small power tool use, lawn mowers and trimmers.
• Ability to clean and move heavy objects when necessary.
• Able to communicate effectively with the public.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes cemetery grounds and buildings according to scheduled time frames.
• Provides visitor contact services to facilitate locating gravesites.
• Cleans, maintains and services State buildings.
• Loads and unloads supplies and equipment from trucks; moves office furniture.
• Performs routine building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Cleans windows, floors and walls; waxes and buffs floors.
• May perform outdoor maintenance and grounds care.
• Performs other related duties.
