Job summary

DHRM is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker (Part-Time) at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery. The role focuses on maintaining grounds and ensuring veterans and their families receive the benefits and recognition earned through service.

The candidate must understand cemetery maintenance, maps, and site layouts, and be able to operate or assist with required tools and equipment while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must know cemetery grounds maintenance procedures and practices.
• Familiar with garden/section maps, pins and gravesite numbering.
• Capable of preventative maintenance on cemetery equipment and power tools.
• Able to lift/maneuver a 220-pound grave marker with assistance.
• High School education/GED or cemetery experience of six months.
• Valid Virginia driver's license.
