State-of-South-Carolina is seeking a part-time truck driver training instructor to teach students to become licensed CDL Class A drivers, including classroom and over-the-road instruction. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience in trucking or CDL operations.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Must maintain CDL Class A license with Instruction Permit.
  • 5 years current work experience in Truck Driving.
  • 1 year teaching and training experience in Truck Driving.
  • Background check and periodic drug screenings required.
  • Defensive Driver certification due within 6 months of hire.
  • AAMVA Examiner's Training Program certification or ability to attend the training.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students to become licensed CDL Class A drivers.
  • Conduct weekly or weekend training sessions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate student records and logs.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and changes.
  • Schedule student testing with the local DMV office.
  • Serve as a role model to students and support job placement.
