Job summary

Sacred Heart Parish School is seeking a part-time School Counselor to support TK–8 students in a faith-based setting. The counselor will provide short-term counseling, promote well-being, and collaborate with teachers and parents to foster a safe, nurturing Catholic environment.

The role requires experience as a school counselor, proficiency in Spanish, and licensure. Responsibilities include implementing social-emotional learning programs and contributing to a faith-filled school community.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school counselor and working with TK–8 students.
• Proficiency in Spanish.
• Licensed counselor with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual and small group counseling to support students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs.
• Help students develop self-regulation, conflict resolution, and positive decision-making skills grounded in Catholic values.
• Incorporate Catholic teachings and virtues into counseling practices when appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers and administration to address student concerns and implement support strategies.
• Communicate with parents regarding student needs and progress as appropriate.
• Develop and implement preventative programs reflecting the school’s mission.
