Job summary

SpartanNash Harrison location is seeking a part-time Cashier to operate the register, assist customers and bag purchases. You’ll handle cash, cards, and electronic payments while delivering friendly service in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role requires basic math and communication skills; prior retail experience is preferred, and the team emphasizes a strong customer-focused culture and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; interact politely with customers.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize purchases and total customers.
• Process financial transactions (cash, checks, cards, EBT, loyalty programs) accurately.
• Weigh and bag customer purchases; ensure proper product identification and pricing.
• Maintain front-end cleanliness and organization; assist with stocking as needed.
• Communicate store programs, specials and coupons to customers; model high service standards.
• Follow safety, cash handling and company policies; uphold PPE and sanitation standards.
