Job summary

Signal Centers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Navigator to support parents participating in the Family Forward program. This position advances economic mobility through individualized career planning, workforce coaching, employer engagement, and employment pathway development for adults who are unemployed, underemployed, or seeking career advancement.

This is a part-time, grant-funded position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, career coaching, or a related human-services environment.
• Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to establish positive and professional relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
• Ability to engage employers, community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce partners.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage participant documentation, deadlines, follow-up activities, and program data.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct career assessments and develop individualized career plans.
• Provide career coaching, job readiness training, resume assistance, and interview preparation in group and one-on-one settings.
• Connect participants to education, credentialing, apprenticeship, and workforce development opportunities.
• Build relationships with employers, workforce partners, and the community to recruit clients and partners.
• Coordinate supportive services to reduce employment barriers.
• Support parents reentering the workforce following incarceration or child welfare involvement.
• Track participant outcomes and maintain documentation, data entry, and reports.
