Sherwood Oaks Post Acute (Food Services) is seeking a part-time Cook to support the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure sanitary cooking and serving areas.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, ability to read recipes, and a ServSafe certificate. Teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and recipes.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean, sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and ensure variety.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides for accuracy.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and maintain sanitation of cooking areas.
• Work under supervision and, in absence of Dietary Supervisor, oversee dietary staff.
