Job summary

The City of Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Part-Time Fitness Wellness Instructor to conduct safe aerobics and fitness classes sponsored by the Department.

Responsibilities include instructing classes, maintaining equipment areas, updating routines every six weeks, and providing CPR/AED as needed. Evening and weekend work is required, with opportunities to assist with city-wide programs and camps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a Fitness Wellness Instructor certification by a credible certifying agency.
• Knowledge of current fitness science and ability to instruct class.

Responsibilities

• Instructs assigned aerobic, exercise, or fitness classes safely.
• Keeps activity and storage areas neat and assists participants with equipment.
• Changes fitness routines at least every six weeks.
• Finds a substitute instructor when needed.
• Works evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Renders CPR/AED as needed and uses AED device.
• Communicates information to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Monitors participants to ensure proper techniques and assists those in distress.
• Assists with other fitness programs and camps when requested.
• Performs other work as assigned.
