Job summary

Spring Arbor University is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across campus. 25-29 hours per week with on-call duties monthly. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and basic building systems.

You will inspect, repair, and document building conditions, assist with snow removal, and collaborate with campus staff to ensure a safe, reliable environment in a faith-based academic setting.

Qualifications

• Three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with general maintenance and various trades is preferred.
• Ability to work in a professional environment and follow campus policies.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance repairs.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing projects.
• Window, screen repairs.
• Preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues around campus.
• Changing/converting light bulbs and/or fixtures.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Proficient in painting.
• Proficient in drywall maintenance.
• Changing filters and belts as needed.
• Building walkthrough and documentation of building temps and pressures.
• On-call as scheduled monthly.
• Ability to learn and apply what is needed to successfully maintain campus mechanicals.
• Assist with snow removal and other services as needed.
• Must be able to work quietly in professional environments.
• Must be a team player and work well with others to resolve campus wide issues.
