Job summary

Oregon State University in Bend, OR is seeking part-time Student Event Assistants to support OSU-Cascades Event Services. The pool is used for the 2026-27 academic year, with roughly 5 hours per week scheduled and potential flexibility in summer and the academic year.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down events, assisting with guest check-in, providing customer service, and helping with catering, A/V, and safety tasks. Training includes abuse prevention and diversity training.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university.
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.
• High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program.
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.

Responsibilities

• Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist with setting up and dismantling event furniture, signage, equipment, catering materials, and A/V components.
• Event Support: Provide support during events including guest check-in, event monitoring, customer service, assisting with catering and/or A/V needs, and ensuring event spaces remain safe and welcoming.
• General Event Logistics: Assist Event Managers and Coordinators in preparing supplies, organizing storage spaces, and maintaining event equipment.
• Campus Representation: Represent Event Services professionally to event clients, campus partners, and community guests.
• Youth Protection, Food Safety, and Alcohol Compliance Support: Serve as an Authorized Adult when supporting events involving youth participants. Assist with food safety monitoring and alcohol service compliance when applicable to event operations.
