Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking a Part-time Custodian to perform custodial functions in campus buildings, maintaining assigned areas and equipment in a neat, clean and sanitary condition. The role reports to the Custodial department and supports routine cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities include following supervisor assignments, operating custodial equipment, lifting up to 60 lbs, and assisting with event setups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to use various cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments from supervisor, verbal or written.
• Performs routine cleaning to maintain floors, walls, windows, bathrooms, showers and locker rooms.
• Unlocks and locks interior and exterior doors as assigned.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment.
• Moves furniture and small equipment as needed.
• In winter, clears snow and ice from steps and sidewalks.
• Sets up facilities for sponsored events and restores them after use.
