Job summary

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students seeks Part Time Transportation Behavioral Support Staff to ensure safe transportation for students with emotional, developmental, and behavioral disabilities. You will de-escalate, support behavior, and assist with driver safety on 15-passenger vans.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CPI certification (or within 60 days), CPR/First Aid, and a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

• Patience and reliable attendance are essential.
• CPR and First Aid training required or obtained prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide active behavioral support to students during transportation.
• Use de-escalation strategies and CPI techniques; intervene early to prevent escalation.
• Document incidents and maintain safety by ensuring seatbelts/harnesses are secured.
• Assist with loading/unloading and vehicle safety checks with the driver.
