Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is hiring part-time faculty to educate and guide students across Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation pathways. Ideal candidates will have a technical degree and journeyman credentials, with at least five years of applicable experience.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements as stated: Technical Diploma or higher in a related field including trades, Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Must be a current Journeyman or Master Journeyman in any trade.
• Minimum five years full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) in any trade, Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Within last five years: at least one year of work experience or two years teaching post-secondary building inspector coursework.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and deliver instruction and teaching-related activities.
• Manage the classroom/laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
• Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
• Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
• Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
• Promote the education/training program, recruit and retain students, and market MATC.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop relationships with business and industry.
• Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
• Maintain certification and stay current in field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
