Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College is seeking a part-time Instructor for Industrial Maintenance to deliver instruction in a hands-on environment in the Milwaukee area. The position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Trades Pathway with a fall-start schedule.

Educators will manage labs, develop curriculum, and assess student progress while maintaining current industry certification and participating in program evaluation and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent apprenticeship/technical diploma.
• Experience or training in industrial maintenance, machine repair, or automation is required.
• Instructors must complete MATC instructor training within five years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and deliver instruction and teaching-related activities.
• Manage the classroom/laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor and revise to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
• Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
• Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
• Collaborate with advisory committee in the program area.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
• Promote the education/training program and assist in recruitment/retention efforts.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop relationships with business and industry.
• Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
• Maintain certification and stay current in the field.
