Job summary

The Salvation Army in Missouri is seeking a part-time music educator to work with children and adults in the corps and community, planning and implementing a music program including theory, performance, and values.

Responsibilities include leading music and arts programs, weekly lesson planning, coordinating recitals, encouraging skill development, organizing performances, and supporting summer camps; flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive teaching experience.
• Minimum two years’ music experience teaching children/adults; performance experience preferred.
• Certifications/licenses: None

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs as assigned and plan weekly music lessons.
• Attend recitals with corps leadership and prep corps music programs for concert participation.
• Encourage participants to develop musical abilities and self-esteem.
• Help organize performances and community activities to promote the mission.
• Support participation in summer camps and related programs.
• All other duties as assigned.
