Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a closely related field.
• Experience applying computational methods to biological problems.
• Either prior teaching or more than 3 years in course-relevant work is required.
• Proven platform skills and willingness to receive coaching from faculty lead.
• Prior experience in a diverse higher education institution preferred.
• Knowledge of Python and/or R is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Review and learn key teaching points from instructor guides.
• Prepare lectures based on course materials provided to support high-quality teaching.
• Facilitate respectful debates and discussions in in-person or online classes.
• Provide timely review and coaching feedback on assignments.
• Stay connected with student performance and progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development for the program.
• Part-time instructors work under the director with a faculty lead and will hold office hours.
