Job summary

Garden Grove Unified School District seeks a School Community Liaison to bridge communication between the school, families, and the community. This role emphasizes bilingual interpretation and translation to support student services and parent engagement.

Position is part-time, with hours around 3 to 3.5 per day during the school year. Requires fluent English and Vietnamese, a California driver license, and the ability to work flexible hours for district events.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with experience in oral interpretation and/or translation.
• Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required.
• California driver license and DMV record must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to facilitate communication between school, home, and the community.
• Provide oral interpretation at meetings such as teacher conferences, IEPs, and attendance sessions.
• Assist families with applications and access to community services.
• Translate flyers, newsletters, emails, and other communications.
• Encourage parent participation in workshops and events and provide transportation if approved.
• Perform related clerical duties to support school and parent education programs.
