Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant who is fluent in English and Spanish. The role involves pre-screenings and testing before the Doctor’s examination, supporting the optometrist, and ensuring a smooth patient flow in a busy store environment.

Training provided; optical experience not required. The position offers competitive hourly pay, Sundays off, and opportunities to grow within America's Best brand and National Vision’s extensive network.

Qualifications

• Fluent reading and speaking English and Spanish.
• Experience in retail/optical preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge and explain procedures clearly.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing before examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening and review prescriptions carefully.
• Identify special needs and consult with the optician, doctor or management when necessary.
• Maintain all equipment in doctor’s and pre-test areas.
