Job summary

America’s Best in Tampa, FL is seeking a friendly Optometric Technician / Medical Assistant for a part-time role. You will assist the optometrist with pre-screenings, patient flow, and basic testing, while delivering excellent customer service.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is required; prior optical retail experience is a plus but not required. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth within National Vision.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
• Previous retail/optical experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to learn optical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care and smooth patient flow.
• Maintain professional atmosphere in doctor’s office and pre-test room.
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform pre-test testing.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
