Job summary

Hands of Heartland seeks compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist (BSS) in Scottsbluff, NE. You will assist individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings to help them reach personal goals and enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities include daily living support, transportation, and documentation. A high standard of professionalism and respect is required. Starting pay is $18/hour with potential for full-time hours and tuition reimbursement benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and clear driving record
• Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
• Ability to pass all registry and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prefer one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities with behavioral challenges or caring for a person in a healthcare setting; training provided

Responsibilities

• Provide support in home and community to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assist with basic housekeeping tasks and transportation to appointments and activities
• Promote independence and health and safety of those served
• Document plans, behavior data, and logs accurately and timely
• Maintain residence and personal space clean and organized
