Job summary

Greater Joliet Area YMCA in Morris, IL is seeking a part-time Youth Program Leader to ensure the safety and active engagement of children aged 5–12. You will lead before- and after-school activities, supervise staff, and ensure drop-off/pick-up procedures are followed.

You will coordinate enrichment activities, manage supplies, and uphold YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• EpiPen training and Child Abuse Prevention training are required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct staff through participant disciplinary issues.
• Provide role modeling for staff.
• Communicate with director about staff/child issues.
• Maintain adequate program supplies (cleaning materials, snacks).
• Ensure sites comply with audits and DCFS/NIFB requirements.
• Supervise and support child care staff during parent conversations.
• Maintain a structured learning environment during remote learning times.
• Complete incident reports and parent communications promptly.
