Job summary

Greater Joliet Area YMCA in Joliet, IL is seeking a part-time leader to ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 5-12 and to lead before/after school programs. You will develop daily enrichment activities and manage drop-off/pick-up procedures while distributing YMCA materials to families and maintaining supplies and snacks.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience, 1-3 years, working with children preferably in a before/after care setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and epi-pen certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training required before employment.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• Willing to obtain licensing requirements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Before and After School Care Director with onboarding new staff; conduct training and onboarding checklists.
• Conduct weekly audits and provide regular feedback to staff.
• Provide guidance during staff and child issue resolution.
• Assist and direct staff through program participant disciplinary issues.
• Ensure sites have adequate supplies, cleaning materials, snacks, and first aid items.
• Deliver training opportunities and resources at sites, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Communicate with the Director about staff/child issues and action plans.
• Ensure all incident reports and parent communications are completed timely.
