Job summary

Valparaiso Family YMCA in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a part-time School Age Lead to support the School Age team by ensuring the health and safety of children and delivering age-appropriate educational programs.

You will engage with members and families, help create interactive activities, arrive on time in uniform, and collaborate with the School Age Assistants to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age 18 required.
• Previous child educational experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all children and maintain confidentiality.
• Create curriculum activities that engage and motivate children.
• Arrive at work on time in uniform and set a positive example.
• Communicate with School Age Team Lead and attend departmental meetings.
• Partner with School Age Assistants to foster teamwork.
• Maintain awareness of children's activities and never leave them unsupervised.
• Follow sign-in/sign-out procedures to document attendance.
• Follow provided curriculum activities and interact with children.
• Supervise and interact with children in positive, learning activities.
• Follow emergency procedures and report accidents or hazards.
• Adhere to policies and obtain required training.
• Provide courteous feedback and address concerns with active listening.
