Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Preston Veteran's Memorial School in Preston, CT for the 2026-2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with morning and afternoon programs.

Responsibilities include facilitating activities from the curriculum, supporting children's learning through play, and ensuring a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with kids preferred.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic work, art and homework support.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines and program policies.
• Support program operations such as attendance, registration, and staffing.
