Job summary

The Best Bees Company is seeking a part-time beekeeper in Omaha, NE to join our field operations team. This role involves servicing hives in the Omaha area, installing and relocating hives, and keeping accurate records using our app.

Ideal candidates have at least one full season of beekeeping experience, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently in the field with remote support. Compensation is hourly and based on experience.

Qualifications

• At least one full season of beekeeping experience.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for field work.
• Ability to service hives in the Omaha area and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Access to a smartphone and familiarity with Slack, Google services and Apple products.
• Willingness to take on last-minute hive tasks and events.

Responsibilities

• Service hives in the Omaha region following monthly objectives.
• Record hive data using our proprietary application.
• Perform beehive installations, relocations, and removals.
• Maintain equipment and inventory, including boxes and frames.
• Administer Varroa mite treatments safely.
• Maintain professionalism with clients and coordinate with managers.
• Assist with honey sample collection for genomic testing and events.
• Site consultations to determine hive locations per guidelines.
• Facilitate honey extraction using rental equipment or city harvesting.
