Job summary

The Best Bees Company is seeking a part‑time beekeeper to join our Hartford, CT team. You will service hives in the Hartford region, record observations in our app, and support hive installations, relocations, and removals.

Ideal candidates have at least one beekeeping season, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This role offers flexible scheduling and training materials to enhance skill set in a remote‑supported field environment.

Qualifications

• At least one full season of beekeeping experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to service hives in Hartford, CT area.
• Access to a vehicle to transport gear.
• Access to a smartphone and basic apps (Slack, Google).
• Willingness for last‑minute hive tasks and events.
• Comfort with public speaking or hosting events.
• Ability to work independently in the field with remote support.
• Lift and handle up to 50 lbs safely.

Responsibilities

• Service hives in the Hartford region following monthly objectives.
• Record hive data through our proprietary app.
• Install, relocate, and remove beehives.
• Maintain equipment and inventory, clean facilities.
• Administer Varroa mite treatments safely.
• Communicate professionally with clients and managers.
• Assist with sampling for genomic tests and events.
• Conduct site consultations for hive placement.
• Extract client honey using rental equipment or local facilities.
