Merchants Distributors, Inc. (MDI) is seeking a battery maintenance worker to keep the battery inventory clean, charged, and replaced daily. The role requires operating a battery changer, handling cables, and coordinating with mechanics.

The position runs on Saturdays and Sundays 3pm-11pm and involves lifting 100+ pounds and basic computer tasks to log readings in the TMT Program. Safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; basic computer skills required.
• Basic DC electrical knowledge required.
• Courteous communication and phone skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate the battery changer.
• Repair battery cable ends and connectors.
• Maintain the battery changing area in a neat and orderly fashion daily.
• Work well with mechanics.
• Record and enter equipment hour meter readings into the TMT Program.
• Lift to 100+ pounds.
• May be required to perform other tasks, as necessary.
