Job summary

Community College of Allegheny County is seeking a temporary part-time Assistant Baseball Coach to support the Head Coach in instructing student athletes, coordinating practices, and promoting team safety.

The role involves recruiting, communicating with staff, and assisting with eligibility and game logistics. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and coaching experience, with evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Coaching experience at high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of baseball techniques, rules, and training methods.
• Familiarity with NJCAA rules or willingness to learn and maintain compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach to organize, communicate and conduct practices and sessions, identifying players' strengths and weaknesses to provide feedback.
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety; ensure health and safety standards during training and competition.
• Recruit prospective athletes and coordinate with staff on eligibility and team needs.
• Coordinate practices, game schedules, travel arrangements, and communicate with athletes.
• Assist with equipment inventory, maintenance, and preparation for games and practices.
• Assist with travel logistics and driver duties as needed.
• Support fundraising efforts for team trips and events.
• Attend new student orientations and assist with administrative tasks related to eligibility and records.
• Perform other related duties as required.
