Job summary

Hyatt Place Hyatt House Indianapolis Downtown is seeking a Part-Time Bartender to prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages while delivering exceptional guest service. You will greet guests, take orders, make recommendations, and maintain a clean bar area in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include restocking, handling cash and tabs, and ensuring age verification and compliance with all safety policies. Prior experience and a passion for guest satisfaction are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bartending certification preferred (where applicable).
• Minimum 1 year of bartending or high-volume restaurant/bar experience preferred.
• Knowledge of drink recipes, mixology, and POS systems required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages according to standard recipes.
• Greet and engage guests, take orders, and provide recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar area, including counters, equipment, and glassware.
• Restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies throughout the shift.
• Process payments accurately using POS systems; handle cash and tabs responsibly.
• Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Assist with bar opening and closing duties.
