Job summary

PlumpJack Group is seeking a vigilant Security Officer for nights, weekends, and holidays at a high-traffic venue in San Francisco. You will check IDs, enforce policies, patrol premises, and deescalate incidents to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.

The role requires at least 1 year of security experience in nightlife or hospitality, plus a valid California Guard Card and knowledge of liquor laws. Strong communication and professionalism are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year bar, nightclub or hospitality security experience.
• Must possess current California Guard Card at time of hire.
• Must be familiar with federal, state and local liquor laws.
• Detail oriented, organized, and efficient.
• Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
• Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Check all guest IDs at the door before entering premises.
• Follow security protocols as directed by Manager on Duty/Lead Security.
• Make the Manager on Duty/Lead Security aware of all guest comments and complaints.
• Enforce, promote and comply with all PlumpJack policies and procedures.
• Patrol bar property, noting problem areas or unusual activity.
• Assist in preventing and deescalating fights, escorting or removing trespassers or guests in violation of policies, and contacting law enforcement when needed.
• Understand and respond to all guest needs in a timely, professional manner, deferring to the Manager on Duty when necessary.
• Extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive and thank them on departure.
• Note safety hazards and take remedial action.
• Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
• In an emergency, notify the manager on duty.
• Maintain and protect assigned security equipment from damage.
• Represent PlumpJack positively and attend events to build relationships on and off property.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and perform cross-training as directed.

• To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Manager on Duty, when necessary, to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
• To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
• To note safety hazards and takes appropriate remedial action.
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
• In an emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons, immediately notify the manager on duty.
• To be responsible for maintaining and protecting assigned security equipment from damage.
• To represent PlumpJack in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote the PlumpJack internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
• To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
• To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
