Job summary

Mission Federal Credit Union in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Teller to serve as both teller and platform representative. This part-time role (20 hours, includes a full Saturday) offers opportunities to build member relationships, educate on products, and support branch goals.

You will handle a range of transactions, open accounts, and promote digital banking tools while ensuring accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 12 months of retail and/or customer service experience, or 6 months of experience in a financial institution or similar industry.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Cash handling experience (preferred).
• Sales or cross-selling experience (preferred).
• Experience in a retail banking or credit union environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with Symitar (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage every member with a warm, professional attitude.
• Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, wire transfers, official checks, cash advances, and gift cards.
• Open new accounts, shares, and credit card accounts.
• Conduct needs-based conversations to identify products and services that best fit members' financial goals.
• Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service channels.
• Follow up with members to ensure satisfaction and uncover additional opportunities to help.
• Support branch and individual sales goals through referrals and cross-selling that genuinely benefit members.
• Balance cash drawers and support end-of-day branch balancing activities.
• Prepare account-opening and credit card documentation accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Protect member information and company assets by following all security procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA compliance.
• Participate in branch meetings, community events, and sales initiatives.
