Qualifications

Preferred candidates possess knowledge of safe procedures with livestock and poultry, and ability to operate basic data collection tools.
Ability to communicate clearly, maintain records, and interact with livestock producers and market operators.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections at livestock markets, flea markets, farms and other gatherings.
Identify livestock to ensure disease prevention and regulatory compliance.
Respond to animal health concerns and monitor exhibitions for disease.
Collect samples for testing and route to lab; prepare reports and maintain records.
Cover auction market inspections on Saturdays as needed.
