Job summary

Village Green Nursery School is seeking a caring, dependable Part‑Time Assistant Teacher to join our play‑based preschool community. You will support daily classroom operations, assist with activities, and help create a safe, welcoming environment for young children.

The position emphasizes teamwork, dedication to early childhood education, and engaging with families while upholding our nurturing approach. Requires background checks, health screenings, and CPR/First Aid readiness.

Qualifications

• Genuine love of working with preschool-aged children.
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy classroom.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative mindset within a teaching team.
• Positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Must clear a full background check and health screenings.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
• Medication administration and Epi-Pen training or willingness to obtain.
• Lift a minimum of 40 pounds and engage in physical activity with children.
• Either possess or be willing to earn a CDA credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and routines.
• Review lesson plans and help prepare classroom materials before children arrive.
• Supervise children throughout the day, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Foster positive relationships with children and families through kindness and communication.
• Use developmentally appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Monitor classroom learning areas as directed by the Head Teacher.
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and maintaining an organized learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with the teaching team and follow school policies.
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and occasional evening events.
