Job summary

Foundations-Early-Learning-Center is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering a developmentally appropriate daily program. You will help implement activities that promote cognitive, social, and physical growth, assist with planning, and maintain a safe, clean classroom.

You will engage with families, staff, and community resources, participate in monthly meetings, and ensure compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of work experience related to child care and development.
• Compliance with Act 33 including CY-113 and SP4-164 and FBI fingerprinting.
• Biannual physical exam and TB test; free from infectious disease.
• Ability to relate well to young children and coworkers.
• Ability to supervise adults when necessary.
• Complete New Staff Orientation and be at least 18 years old.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire.
• Experience planning age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and building positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing a safe and healthful learning environment.
• Support planning for multi-sensory classroom activities and diverse learning styles.
• Assist in implementing curriculum and nutrition-related activities.
• Maintain parent communication and assist with classroom records.
• Attend staff meetings and prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Follow dress code and company policies; complete required training hours.
