Village Baptist Church seeks a Preschool Teacher Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering child-focused activities and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. You will greet families, assist with curriculum planning, and help with communications and classroom duties under the Preschool Director.

The role emphasizes Christian values, teamwork, and reliability, with opportunities to participate in staff development and church activities.

Qualifications

• Be a Christian and live and teach in ways that are pleasing to God.
• Experience in Christian school ministry (2 years minimum preferred).
• Experience in childcare (2 years minimum preferred).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (must be completed within 60 days of hire date).
• Recognizing and Responding to Suspicions of Child Mistreatment Course (must be completed within 30 days of hire date).

Responsibilities

• Greet each child and parent entering the classroom.
• Assist in planning the afternoon curriculum.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
• Relate instructions to the classroom teacher.
• Cover teacher duties in their absence when required.
• Use materials and equipment creatively.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Assist in preparing parent newsletters and bulletin displays.
• Consult with the classroom teacher or Preschool Director on needs and questions.
• Participate in monthly duties assigned by the Preschool Director.
