Job summary

The Learning Experience in East Brunswick, NJ is seeking a dependable Part-Time Assistant Teacher for the afternoon shift, Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–6:30 PM.

Support Infant, Toddler and Preschool classrooms, provide classroom coverage, supervise play, assist with snacks, diapering, transitions and daily routines, and help maintain a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with children preferred.
• Daycare, preschool, childcare, camp, or early childhood experience is a plus.
• Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and teacher break coverage as needed.
• Support Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms.
• Engage children through play, art, music, sensory activities, and outdoor experiences.
• Assist with afternoon snacks, diapering/toileting, transitions, and daily routines.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Support family pick-up and end-of-day classroom routines.
• Help maintain clean, safe, and organized classrooms.
• Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
• Follow New Jersey childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.

Pay: $17-$18 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time, Monday-Friday | 2:30 PM-6:30 PM

The Learning Experience - East Brunswick is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our classrooms during the afternoon and closing hours.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children and is looking for a consistent weekday afternoon schedule. You'll provide support across classrooms as needed, help maintain appropriate ratios, and create a positive end to the school day for children and families.

What You'll Do

• Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
