Job summary

Child Development Schools in Mustang, OK seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Master Teacher with hands-on activities, storytelling, and exploration. You will help create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, curious, and engaged in learning experiences.

Responsibilities include assisting with age-appropriate lessons, maintaining a tidy classroom, engaging children, and documenting attendance while communicating with families daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18 years old and above.
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in ECE preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and maintain safety for children.

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Master Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Master Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $11.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required.
