Job summary

Southington-Cheshire Community YMCAs in Southington, CT is seeking a part-time, on-site RAYS Assistant Swim Coach to support lead coaches in planning and delivering practices for swimmers 13+.

You will instruct proper technique, assist with warm-ups, monitor pool safety, organize practices and meets, and communicate with caregivers and participants while collaborating with aquatics staff to maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and theory.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Strong verbal and written communication with swimmers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver swim practices to develop skills, endurance, and confidence for 13+ swimmers.
• Instruct proper technique, assist with warm-ups and drills, and monitor safety in and around the pool.
• Organize practices and meets; communicate with caregivers and participants; collaborate with aquatics staff; maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Assist with swimmer evaluations, registration, and basic attendance/performance records.
