Job summary

Dollar Tree in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, assist customers, and develop the team. You will supervise associates, ensure merchandising standards, and uphold company policies.

The role involves opening/closing, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment while delivering strong customer service and staff development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and assist in training Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
